UPDATE: In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, to protect our health workforce and acknowledge the service demands during these unprecedented times, components of this Mental Health Improvement Group will be delivered virtually. Whilst this is an opportunity to explore and experiment with alternate delivery, we anticipate returning to the workshop model in the near future.
The Mental Health Improvement Group aims to improve the provision of high-quality and safe Mental Health Care to all consumers through detailed data analysis and outcome measures focussing on Emergency, Inpatient and Community areas.
Our unique reports highlight key insights for your facility and our well-known workshops create collaboration and innovation sharing of best practice across Australia and New Zealand members.


2020 is the third year we will be able to report our benchmarked data using the new IHPA Mental Health classification System.

The 2020 Mental Health Workshop will focus on the special topic of Addressing Workforce Issues & Wellbeing for Mental Health Services.
Multiple Mental Health services are struggling with:

Workforce Issues such as Recruitment and Retention

Performance Management
-
Poor communication
-
Silo mentality and
-
Improving wellbeing & organisational culture.
We will have a range of guest speakers to address the above issues and share their innovative ideas. Members will also be presenting their Aim Statements from the 2019 Workshop which focused on the improving the Mental Health Emergency Department interface.
After our workshop you will have analysed your data, highlighted an opportunity, leveraged best practice and have an implementation plan ready to undertake at your facility and present to the workshop the following year.

Developing specific Mental Health benchmarking reports that focus on quality, safe and efficient consumer care

Measuring and benchmarking performance across the total Mental Health patient journey including Community, ED, Acute areas

Analysing the reports to identify unique insights for your organisation

Learning from highly regarded Mental Health leaders on key topics to improve your Hospital or Health Service

Sharing and collaborating best practice models of care from your organisation
