Speakers at BEYOND2020
Dr Gail Prileszky PhD (Medicine and Health Science), BSc (Hons) Midwifery, RM, BSc (Hons), RGN
Gail is an experienced and enthusiastic healthcare executive, researcher, and professional coach with a background in nursing and midwifery and a PhD in Medicine and Health Science. She has twenty-five years’ clinical experience and has spent the last four years enjoying working with Health Roundtable members and the Health Roundtable teams to understand data and identify improvement opportunities.
Gail has leadership experience and proven ability to maximize the potential of individuals she works with. Now in the role of General Manager of Health Roundtable and Chief Client Officer of Potential (x) Gail is driven to improve positive experiences and outcomes for patients through influencing and increasing capability and confidence of healthcare executives.
Duane is an experienced leader, executive & management consultant. He has previously held Australian leadership positions with DuPont, a Fortune 100 company, focused on innovation and safety culture, and in global consulting firms PwC and KPMG. In addition, Duane spent many years working within the health industry, in roles such as Health Services and Hospital CEO, Executive Director and other management positions.
Duane now leads Potential(x), an aspiring ‘for purpose’ organization that seeks to improve lives through partnerships that deliver high value analysis and knowledge-based services to improve health and human services.
Most notable is the unique partnership with the Health Roundtable (HRT) a not for profit membership organization of over 190 public hospitals across Australia, New Zealand and more recently the UAE. The HRT services members through the delivery of deep industry analysis, benchmarking and innovation sharing platforms.
In addition, Potential(x) supports the delivery of knowledge and insights to over 160 private hospitals, large disability services and health advice / telehealth services internationally.
Dr Gareth Goodier MB ChB MHA DHSc FRACMA FAFPHM
Dr Gareth Goodier is the Group Chief Executive for Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA.
SEHA is the corporate name for Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, an independent public joint stock company that owns and operates all public hospitals and clinics across the emirate. ‘SEHA’ is a phonetic rendering of the Arabic word for health. SEHA has more than 17000 employees, consists of 12 hospitals, 46 primary care clinics, 10 disease and screening centres, 3 mobile clinics, 1 school clinic, 2 blood banks, 1 vaccination centre and 2 staff clinics.
Dr Goodier’s previous experience includes 18 years as the Chief Executive of major academic hospitals across the UK (Cambridge University Hospitals, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals) and Australia (East Metro Perth, Kimberley, Far North Queensland) alongside international experience in Healthcare Management Consulting.
Matiu Bush is the Deputy Director of the Health Transformation Lab at RMIT University, designing towards cultures of innovation and creativity in healthcare.
Matiu founded One Good Street, a social networking platform to encourage neighbour-initiated care for older residents at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
Matiu has a Master's degree in Public Health, broad clinical and managerial nursing experience, including work in Mexico with Nobel Prize Laureate Mother Teresa in international border aid, and as an emergency, oncology, intensive care nurse and is a sexual health Nurse Practitioner.
Matiu’s contributions to healthcare include involvement with Better Care Victoria as a board member and the Emerging Leaders Clinical Advisory Committee, Rotarian, Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA), student mentor at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health Mentoring Program and the Deputy Editor for the Journal of Health Design.
Dr Lucille Wilkinson MBChB, FRACP, MHlthLdship (Hons)
Lucille is a Specialist Physician working in both Acute Medicine and Obstetric Medicine in Northland, New Zealand. She is Clinical Director of Medicine at Northland District Health Board and leads a burgeoning team of Physicians and Specialist Nurses who are providing medical care to a rapidly growing population with high levels of complex medical needs.
Lucille’s leadership values include the key message of looking after your staff to ensure that you can have them look after the people. Her Master’s thesis in 2018 promoted a change in organisational values towards a focus on staff wellbeing and an understanding of the multiple organisational benefits of investing in this area. She is the clinical lead for the roll out of organisational wide assessment of staff wellbeing through the collaboration between the Health Roundtable and the Mayo Wellbeing Index.
Prof Catherine Crock AM
Dr. Catherine Crock is a medical pioneer, experienced chair, producer of music and theatrics, humanitarian, mother and advocate for change.
As a Physician at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Catherine has successfully implemented a raft of positive changes to healthcare in the areas of organisational culture, services and patient/family support.
Dr Crock is the Chair and Founder of The Hush Foundation, a registered charity organisation working to transform healthcare by improving partnerships, culture and the environment to support health and wellbeing. Hush, in collaboration with some of Australia’s finest musical talent, has commissioned 15 albums of music specifically for application within healthcare.
Dr Crock has also produced three theatrical healthcare plays, "Hear Me", "Do You Know Me?" and "What Matters", performed in hospitals and Aged Care settings across Australia more than 140 times, raising awareness for patient centred care, communication and patient safety issues and to encourage a shift in the culture of healthcare.
Dr Rohan Cattell
As the Chief Data Scientist for the Health Roundtable, Rohan leads our machine learning and predictive modelling work as well as provides advice on a range of statistical, computational and data related work across the organisation.
Rohan developed HRT's ground-breaking predictive models for in-hospital mortality and led the recent work on updating out relative stay index to v2.0. He is currently engaged in building our machine learning systems and capacity, leading work on predictive models for readmissions and HACs and streamlining our processes for updating and maintaining our existing suite of statistical models.
Rohan holds a PhD in mathematics and worked as an academic and then software developer before moving into healthcare and data science.
Rachel De Sain
Rachel is an internationally regarded digital strategist with over twenty years of global experience having worked with governments, Fortune 500 companies and leading academic institutions.
Rachel is fascinated by human behaviour, about finding new ways to solve problems, how technology can create opportunities for innovation and how to transform those ideas into actionable strategies.
Dr Sam Prince
Dr Sam Prince is the founder of the Sam Prince Group, a collection of businesses dedicated to the fields of medicine, education, hospitality and aid work.
Dr Prince is a start-up entrepreneur, innovator and disrupter with his initiatives deeply aligned with the UN Sustainability Goals.
Dr Simon Kos
Dr Simon Kos is a medical doctor with a passion for improving healthcare through information technology.
Dr Kos was the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Director, World Wide Health with Microsoft where he was responsible for providing clinical guidance, thought leadership, vision and strategy for Microsoft technologies and solutions in the Health and Healthcare industries.
Dr Kos completed his medical training in 2002, then spent 8 years in the Healthcare Information Technology space including executive roles with InterSystems and Cerner.
Dr Kos has an Executive MBA specialising in Change Management.
Dr Andrew Way AM RN BSc (Hons) MBA FAICD
Andrew Way has served as Alfred Health's Chief Executive since 2009.
His focus is on improving access, ensuring high quality, safe services with low mortality, within a strong financial framework and a research-supportive environment. Alfred Health is now seen as a leader in these areas.
Andrew led the development of Victoria’s first Academic Health Science Centre - Monash Partners, now an accredited NHMRC Advanced Health and Research Translation Centre. He was appointed as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the School of Public Health and Preventative Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University in 2015.
Andrew is also a Director of other health related organisations including the Health Roundtable and is a member of several government and other advisory groups. Prior to his relocation to Melbourne in 2009, Andrew had an extensive career in the NHS in the UK, latterly as CEO of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

The format of the Innovation sessions is rapid-fire presentations. Each presenter will have strictly 3 minutes to outline the key messages. Presentation will be at the podium using PowerPoint. Following the rapid-fire presentations, the group will be invited to move to the foyer area where the posters will be displayed.
