Celebrate 25 years of Health Roundtable across 25 days in November!

Starting on the 2nd of November, the Health Roundtable will be hosting the virtual BEYOND2020 conference featuring 25 events including: live talks with keynote speakers; presentations from HRT staff including Chief Data Scientist, Dr Rohan Cattell, Program Staff and CEO, Duane Attree; 80+ member organisations presenting their 'Rapid Fire Innovations'; startup Pitchfest including three HRT Innovation winners; and much more.

Coinciding with the first Health Roundtable event held on 26th of November 1995, our program will conclude with a full HRT Live with dedicated events in each of our member territories from New Zealand, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

Speakers at BEYOND2020

Michael Crossland Speaker – Executive Coach – Humanitarian – International Best Selling Author

Michael has been a fighter since birth, defying the odds of surviving not only a rare form of life-threatening cancer, but being the sole survivor of a horrific cancer drug trial. His battle continues to this very day, having spent nearly ¼ of his life in hospital. Duane Attree

Duane is an experienced leader, executive & management consultant. He has previously held Australian leadership positions with DuPont, a Fortune 100 company, focused on innovation and safety culture, and in global consulting firms PwC and KPMG. In addition, Duane spent many years working within the health industry, in roles such as Health Services and Hospital CEO, Executive Director and other management positions.

Duane now leads Potential(x), an aspiring ‘for purpose’ organization that seeks to improve lives through partnerships that deliver high value analysis and knowledge-based services to improve health and human services.

Most notable is the unique partnership with the Health Roundtable (HRT) a not for profit membership organization of over 190 public hospitals across Australia, New Zealand and more recently the UAE. The HRT services members through the delivery of deep industry analysis, benchmarking and innovation sharing platforms.

In addition, Potential(x) supports the delivery of knowledge and insights to over 160 private hospitals, large disability services and health advice / telehealth services internationally.

 

Dr Rohan Cattell

As the Chief Data Scientist for the Health Roundtable, Rohan leads our machine learning and predictive modelling work as well as provides advice on a range of statistical, computational and data related work across the organisation.

Rohan developed HRT's ground-breaking predictive models for in-hospital mortality and led the recent work on updating out relative stay index to v2.0. He is currently engaged in building our machine learning systems and capacity, leading work on predictive models for readmissions and HACs and streamlining our processes for updating and maintaining our existing suite of statistical models.

Rohan holds a PhD in mathematics and worked as an academic and then software developer before moving into healthcare and data science.

 

Dr Andrew Way AM RN BSc (Hons) MBA FAICD

Andrew Way has served as Alfred Health's Chief Executive since 2009.

His focus is on improving access, ensuring high quality, safe services with low mortality, within a strong financial framework and a research-supportive environment. Alfred Health is now seen as a leader in these areas.

Andrew led the development of Victoria’s first Academic Health Science Centre - Monash Partners, now an accredited NHMRC Advanced Health and Research Translation Centre. He was appointed as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the School of Public Health and Preventative Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University in 2015.

Andrew is also a Director of other health related organisations including the Health Roundtable and is a member of several government and other advisory groups. Prior to his relocation to Melbourne in 2009, Andrew had an extensive career in the NHS in the UK, latterly as CEO of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

The format of the Innovation sessions is rapid-fire presentations. Each presenter will have strictly 3 minutes to outline the key messages. Presentation will be recorded and shared during the Rapid Fire Innovation sessions every Tuesday.

Joanne Gibb, founder of TREAT Healthcare, will give participants an insight into how fatigue is both common and disruptive. Jo’s guided meditation will help refresh and recharge, so that you’ll be better able to take on the rest of your busy day.

5 November - An Introduction to Member Services
