Author: Sarah Brandt | Posted: 30/05/2017 | Views: 1929
NEAT performance data for the combined Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital (LCCH) emergency department was demonstrably worse than that achieved at other children hospitals.

5 core solutions were implemented:
• Standardise streaming
• Standardisation of staffing allocations
• Early decision making and interventions
• Improved signage and ease of access within the department
• Embedded multidisciplinary team based care

Since solution implementation the following results have been noted:
• Discharge NEAT has improved from 89% to 92%
• Senior review within two hours has improved from 79% to 85%
• Referred from consultation has improved from 67% to 70%
