Princess Alexandra Hospital Integrates their RIS with iEMR

Author: Sarah Brandt | Posted: 30/05/2016 | Views: 1285

Princess Alexandra Hospital’s (PAH) current RIS / PACS systems were inefficient, primarily paper processes and the patient journey didn’t have visibility across the organisation. Multiple IT systems were also operating as individual silos.

To remedy their challenges PAH made the following improvements:
• Electronic order requests (EOR) are generated in the patients chart under an encounter
• EOR are submitted electronically to modality work lists
• Introduced work stations on wheels (WOWs)

As a result 100% of EORs now require acknowledgment of results by the referring clinician and visibility of EORs submitted within iEMR show bookings / appointments.
