Allied Health at RBW’s Hospital used as first contact to reduce outpatient waiting lists

Author: Matt Stewart | Posted: 11/11/2015 | Views: 1875
Collaborating extensively with Surgical/Medical specialties, the team at Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital implemented 7 new clinical service redesigns with Allied Health in first contact roles. The redesigns were unique, establishing new clinical governance, data reporting processes and partnerships with referring GPS and networks.

In 7 months they have reduced waiting lists significantly. 80% of patients discharged from First Contact Allied Health clinics have not required surgical/medical specialist consultation.
