Author: Matt Stewart | Posted: 26/06/2015 | Views: 1284
Royal Adelaide identified a concern around the appropriateness of opioid prescriptions and compliance with recommended monitoring of patients on immediate release opioids. By developing an opioid discharge guideline, an education campaign including a patient information sheet and an Immediate release opioid “standard order” form they recorded a large improvement in compliance of pain and sedation score monitoring. Their opioid resource kit has also been endorsed for state-wide use.
