The Health Roundtable is convening a special workshop at the Vibe Savoy in Melbourne to assist member organisations in understanding the changes underlying the DRG 8 system. DRG 8 has a new way of determining the complexity of an episode within a DRG family, which means that approximately one third of your episodes will be reclassified up or down in the new system, compared to DRG 7.
The purpose of the workshop is :
- to provide training on the DRG 8 system and its impact on your inpatient activity
- to learn how member health services and their state governments are adapting to the new system
- to identify further collaborative approaches to ensure consistent coding of inpatient episodes
Who Should Participate?
We encourage each health service to send one delegate with expertise in inpatient coding and classification to the special workshop. Each delegate will be expected to bring a laptop computer to review the special reports that will be created and circulated to each participating health service.
The cost for this special one-day workshop will be $895 per delegate plus GST, which includes a customised Excel workbook for one facility including an Episode Viewer to understand the impact of the individual diagnosis codes where a DRG change has occurred.
Reports for additional facilities can be purchased at $500 each plus GST - please send an email to aman.dayal@healthroundtable.org.
This meeting is limited to 1 attendee per organisation, and maximum of 50.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS MEETING IS NOW CLOSED.
