The topic for 2015 is the safe reduction of primary cesarean delivery
The aim of this Group is to identify innovative and effective practices for safe maternity care. The Group reviews operational and clinical data to look for innovative practice differences.
The Health Roundtable reports show substantial variation in the cesarean section rate across members from 10% to 22%. Following the recent consensus statement from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology members on the indications for primary C-sections, many members are reviewing their practices. Participants will share their progress on initiatives such as the definition of labour dystocia, improving foetal heart rate interpretation and access to non-medical interventions during labour.
