The topic for 2015 is the safe reduction of primary cesarean delivery


The aim of this Group is to identify innovative and effective practices for safe maternity care.  The Group reviews operational and clinical data to look for innovative practice differences.

The Health Roundtable reports show substantial variation in the cesarean section rate across members from 10% to 22%. Following the recent consensus statement from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology members on the indications for primary C-sections, many members are reviewing their practices. Participants will share their progress on initiatives such as the definition of labour dystocia, improving foetal heart rate interpretation and access to non-medical interventions during labour.  For more information click here

Sharing Progress and Strategies to Reduce Perineal Tears

Following the 2014 meeting some members continue to collaborate on the implementation of strategies to reduce perineal tears. All members are welcome to attend this optional workshop where we will review progress with the data from the Maternity Report; members will share their progress and success stories against their 2014 Aim Statements and share how they are practically implementing strategies such as as using perineal warm packs and perineal massage.
