This year we celebrate 20 years of sharing
innovations. Over that time, the pace of
change has accelerated dramatically. This
year, the focus will be "Looking
Forward: The Next 20 Years." Click here
As the Personal Member representing your
organisation, your input is crucial to shape the Roundtable’s work in the years
ahead. For this special workshop I urge you to attend personally, to bring
your Liaison Representative who deals with us on a regular basis, and a senior
health service planner.
There is no registration cost for the
meeting. However, you do need to make your own travel
and accommodation arrangements, and you must register by 12 March to let us know who is attending.
Gala
20th Anniversary Dinner on Thursday 26 March Since the Roundtable started in 1995 with
seven hospitals, it has grown to serve the needs of over 85 health services and
145 hospitals today. We have asked two long-standing members of the Roundtable
– Richard Ashby and Nigel Millar –
to share their perspectives on the Roundtable with you during the dinner.
It has been a great privilege for me to be
part of this process for the past 20 years, and it is time to step back and let
others guide the organisation into the future.
This meeting will mark my last as General Manager of the Roundtable, and
I’m delighted to announce that Dr John Menzies will be taking on that key role following
the meeting. (I’ll continue to work with the team, but will step back and hope
to take some much-needed “garden leave.”)
Executive
Workshop: Developing Goals for 2035 In 1995, the Roundtable members agreed on 10
patient service aspirational goals that have guided us since that time. It’s time to take stock of these, and update
these goals to guide future health service planning, including staff
recruitment and training. Recognising
that health care is now a global industry, we have invited experts Dr Joshua Tepper from Canada, Paul Whittlestone from the UK, and Salim Hasham from Aga Khan University
in Pakistan to join you in developing your goals.
I hope to be able to thank you in person at
the meeting for your support of The Health Roundtable, and the amazing
innovations that you share with other health services across Australia and New
Zealand.
