The key focus of the NSW Chapter will be "Building on Your RSI Improvement.”

NSW/ACT hospitals are now showing real progress in improving RSI in the Medical DRG Families that the Chapter has been concentrating on over the past several years. This meeting will look at strategies to continue this improvement.

Chapter meetings provide the opportunity to share insights with each other, as well as learn from experts from other jurisdictions on issues including coding practices, operational planning practices, staffing practices, and financial management practices.  Click here for information brouchure

Comparison of NSW Data:

·      Has NSW made progress with medical DRGs? (COAD [DRG E65] Diabetes [DRG K60]; Cellulitis [DRG J64])

·      Sub-acute data – a year on

Relative Re-admission Rates – including an analysis of chronic readmissions

Key Note Speaker – Dr Rosalind Crawford

Dr Crawford is Facility Manager & Director of Medical Services, Redland Hospital. Queensland Hospitals have significantly reduced their RSI to an extent that they now report the lowest index across Australia and New Zealand. Dr Crawford will talk about the strategies in place to achieve this result in an environment of constrained finances and staff cuts.
