The aim of the Maternity Improvement Group is to identify innovative and effective practices for safe maternity care. Many health services are experiencing rapid growth in maternity services with limited resources and facilities. The Group reviews operational and clinical data to look for innovative practice differences. Each year the group chooses a special topic for its workshop. In 2014 the topic is reducing perineal trauma. Click here for information brochure
Health Roundtable data shows that the rate of 3rd and 4th degree perineal lacerations in vaginal deliveries varies four-fold from 1.5% to 6%. Members will share innovative practices on preventing perineal tears antenatally, ways to manage the second stage of labour, and ways to manage the perineum after birth and during the postnatal period.
Please register your delegates by 24 April 2014.
Delegate Registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days prior to the commencement of the meeting, with a full credit of monies paid. After that date, no credits are possible.
