Algorithms for Innovation: Searching for solutions to Impossible Problems
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr Vivian Lee
Dr Lee will provide insights on the redesign of health care being implemented in Utah, where she manages a $2.3 billion healthcare system including the Huntsman Cancer Institute, a medical school, a health plan, and 10 neighbourhood health centres.

Finding Exemplar Performers Internationally
Eight Australasian hospitals are currently taking part in our monthly data collection to compare performance with UK hospitals.  We will explore the latest performance trends for hospitals that have begun to reduce variation in care in specific areas, such as hip fractures, STEMI, and stroke.

Poster Presentations:  Status Update on Key Projects
Each participating organisation is expected to provide at least one poster on their program to reduce variation in  Blood Management, Hip Fracture Treatment , STEMI, or Stroke Care, or their progress in improving Medical Engagement.

Global Collaboration in Coronary Artery Disease and Hip Fracture
These two conditions were highlighted as key areas of concern at the 2013 Global Innovation Group meeting. Two expert speakers will talk about the global collaboration work they are undertaking within Australia on these topics.
Associate Professor Jacqueline Close will talk about her work with the ANZ Hip Fracture Registry. She is a consultant in Orthogeriatrics at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and Director of the Falls and Injury Prevention Group at Neuroscience Research Australia.
Professor John Beltrame will talk about his work with the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) specifically related to Coronary Heart Disease. John Beltrame is the Michell Professor of Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Campus of the University of Adelaide and the Cardiology Academic Lead for the Central Adelaide Local Health Network.
