1-Day Workshop

Operational Planning for ABF

Workshop Outline:

Morning: The political context and why activity based funding (ABF) is important. A simple example to illustrate ABF. Paul will provide a quick example to illustrate ABF and then introduce The Health Roundtable ABF model.

Afternoon: The main part of the afternoon will provide a hands on tutorial with your own Health Services' data to show how to plan your inpatient activity at the clinical unit level. Paul will also provide an overview of international developments that may forecast the future direction of the ABF concept in Australia.

The Health Roundtable will supply a template with your actual data for the 12 months to December 2011 to assist in planning 2012/13 and beyond.

To get the best from this event, you will need a laptop with Excel 2007 or later loaded on.
