Since 2008 all District Health Boards across NZ have been members of the New Zealand Chapter of The Health Roundtable. The Aim of the New Zealand Chapter is to improve systems and processes for the delivery of NZ Public Health Services by identifying differences in performance and by sharing and disseminating innovative and good practice ideas among members.

Delegate Registrations may be cancelled up to 25 October 2011, with a full credit of monies paid. After that date, no credits are possible. However, you may substitute a different person for those registered at any time. Hotel and airfare arrangements are separate and may have different policies regarding cancellations and name changes. Please contact them directly.

Keynote Speaker – Dr Ken Catchpole.

“Using Prospective Hazard Assessment to Enhance Safety and Quality in Health Care”

Dr Ken Catchpole is a research psychologist and human factors practitioner who seeks to understand and improve human performance in complex systems. He now works with clinicians to develop and scientifically evaluate interventions to improve safety. Ken is well known for his work with Ferrari on improving handovers, but has also conducted influential studies in Lean, teamwork training, incident reporting, and prospective hazards in surgery. Through popular and scientific articles, keynote addresses, and media coverage, he has sought to engage a worldwide audience in the evaluation and improvement of safety in healthcare from a human factors perspective. As of July 2011, Dr Catchpole holds the position of Associate Director of Surgical Safety and Human Factors Research, Department of Surgery, Cedars Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles.
